Formulation and Characterisation of Ritonavir loaded Ethylcellulose Buoyant Microspheres
نویسندگان
چکیده
Microspheres are one of the novel drug delivery system and are formulated conveniently to obtain prolonged or controlled drug delivery to enhance the bioavailability and target drug to the specific sites. Ritonavir loaded ethylcellulose buoyant microspheres were formulated using ethylcellulose as rate retarding material. Buoyant microspheres were formulated by emulsion solvent diffusion method. Ritonavir buoyant microsphere were characterized and found that ethylcellulose polymer influenced in all the parameters evaluated. Incorporation efficiency was found to be high in all the formulations. Mean particle size were in the range of 195 to 342 μm, Buoyancy was found to be 63 to 72 %. In vitro release from all the formulations were found to be optimum.

Preparation of Ethylcellulose Coated Gelatin Microspheres as a Multiparticulate Colonic Delivery System for 5-Aminosalicilic Acid
In the long-term management of ulcerative colitis patients, repeat dosing maybe required. Since 5-ASA is largely absorbed from the upper intestine, selective delivery of drugs into the colon may be regarded as a better method of drug delivery with fewer side effects and a higher efficacy. The aim of this study was to prepare and evaluate a double coated multiparticulate system for 5-ASA deliver...
